LONDON, Oct. 28. -- There were four openings in the theatres this week. The best of the new plays was "Cristilinda." a circus comedy by Monckton Hoffe. (This play was known in New York as "The Lady Cristilinda.") Leon M. Lion, the producer, ignored the play's failure in New York, and there are some indications that London may look more kindly on it.
The voters of New Jersey on Tuesday will decide between Commissioner A. Harry Moore, Democrat, of Jersey City and State Senator Arthur Whitney, Republican, of Mendham as successor to Governor George S. Silzer, Democrat. The campaign has been one of the hardest fought in the history of New Jersey Gubernatorial contests, and the issue remains in doubt, although most political observers favor Commissioner Moore's chances.
