20 New Yorkers in House Demand Beer and Wine; Democrats Serve Notice on Senate Committee

WASHINGTON, April 16. -- Declaring their conviction that the people they represent demand beer, wine and fermented beverages, twenty Democratic members of the House of Representatives from New York City, Albany and Buffalo filed with the Senate Judiciary Committee today a statement in which they serve notice they are going to fight for these beverages. The statement read:

Joan Lorring was an American actress and singer known for her work in film and theatre. For her role as Bessy Watty in The Corn Is Green (1945), Lorring was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Lorring also originated the role of Marie Buckholder in Come Back, Little Sheba on Broadway in 1950, for which she won a Donaldson Award.
