LONDON, May 5. -- More trains were running today to and from the Liverpool Street station here on the suburban section of the London Northeastern Railway than there were passengers for them. It took THE NEW YORK TIMES correspondent an hour and a half to cover a distance of fourteen miles, it is true, but that was due to the overzeal of the volunteer train workers.
