William John McNaughton, M.M. was an American-born Catholic missionary and bishop. As a member of the Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America (Maryknoll) he was assigned to missions in South Korea. He served as the first Bishop of Incheon from 1961 to 2002.

Public Uneasiness Not Allayed.

BUCHAREST, Dec. 6 (AP). -- Official information concerning the operation performed on the King today was to the effect that the incision was nearly an inch and a half long and that it was the common surgical treatment for hemorrhoids. It was announced that the King withstood the ordeal well, and although the attending physicians maintained the treatment was very simple and no complications are to be feared, this failed to allay public uneasiness.
