GREENVILLE, Miss., April 24 (AP). -- Another 1,000 refugees were taken from Greenville today to Vicksburg on the steamer Barrett. Included in this number were 500 white women and children. This number will be replaced, however, by another thousand who are being brought here from Lake Lee, twelve miles south of here.

MarĂa del Socorro Tellado LĂłpez, known as CorĂn Tellado, was a Spanish writer of romantic novels and photonovels that were best-sellers in several Spanish-language countries. She published more than 4,000 titles and sold more than 400 million books which have been translated into several languages. She was listed in the 1994 Guinness World Records as having sold the most books written in Spanish, and earlier in 1962 UNESCO declared her the most read Spanish writer after Miguel de Cervantes.

Alberto Aleandro Uderzo, better known as Albert Uderzo, was a French comic book artist and scriptwriter. He is best known as the co-creator and illustrator of the Astérix series in collaboration with René Goscinny. He also drew other comics such as Oumpah-pah, again with Goscinny. Uderzo retired in September 2011.
