TOKIO, Sept. 14. -- The latest official statements on yesterday's typhoon on the Island of Kiushiu states the number of deaths to be 719, houses demolished to be 1,850 and houses flooded to be 3,000. Ten miles of dikes were washed away and thirty-seven vessels were swept from their moorings.
