John Buscema was an American comic book artist and one of the mainstays of Marvel Comics during its 1960s and 1970s ascendancy into an industry leader and its subsequent expansion to a major pop-culture conglomerate. His younger brother Sal Buscema is also a comic book artist.

HAVANA, Dec. 10. -- President Gerardo Machado of Cuba headed the army of notables that watched the inauguration of the fourteenth meeting of the Havana American Jockey Club at Oriental Park this afternoon. Just before the start of the opening race President Machado, flanked by his official staff and a body guard of Cuban soldiers, swept into the grounds and was ushered to his private box in the club house.
