GLENS FALLS, N.Y., Sept. 10 -- Densmore Shute, the slim Ohioan, bettered par today with consecutive rounds of 70 and 68 to coast over the final thirty-six holes and carry off the winner's purse of $1000 in the Glens Falls open tourney with a 72-hole total of 280, five strokes ahead of the field.
