1932Barun De, Indian historian and author (died 2013)[†]
Barun De was an Indian historian. He served as the first professor of social and economic history of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, founder-director of the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta and the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata and as the honorary state editor for the West Bengal District Gazetteers. He was chairman of the West Bengal Heritage Commission.

Louis Marie Malle was a French film director, screenwriter, and producer who worked in both French cinema and Hollywood. Described as "eclectic" and "a filmmaker difficult to pin down", Malle made documentaries, romances, period dramas, and thrillers. He often depicted provocative or controversial subject matter.

As a result of a substantial reduction in operating expenses and increased passenger revenue, American Airways, Inc., the airline operating subsidiary of the Aviation Corporation of Delaware, lowered its operating loss in the third quarter of the year to $30,367 from $563,888 in the second quarter of 1932 and $444,933 for the first quarter, it was announced yesterday by LaMotte T. Cohu, president of the parent company and the subsidiary.
