The reorganization plan for the Butterick Company, which has been attacked by holders of some of its debentures, has been referred by Federal Judge John C. Knox to Special Master Joyce. Judge Knox said he would urge the special master to expedite the hearings on the plan, and to report his findings by July 12, since the company was in need of cash.
WASHINGTON, June 22. -- The Reconstruction Finance Corporation announced today a cash balance of $7,629,564.37 as of May 31, receipts in May having exceeded expenditures by $4,981,953.76. There was a carry-over from April of $2,647,610.61, according to the revised figures on May business, contained in the monthly report to Congress.
