Reich Agrees to Let Holland Jews Depart; First Pact Allows Removal of Some Capital

BERLIN, March 6. -- It was confirmed here today that the first mutually satisfactory agreement for the exodus of foreign Jews from Germany had been concluded between the Reich and the Netherlands. It was believed that this may serve as a model for similar agreements with other countries, but only with those which buy more from Germany than they sell her, thereby creating a necessary balance of foreign exchange for the transfer of Jewish capital.

Georges Perec was a French novelist, filmmaker, documentalist, and essayist. He was a member of the Oulipo group. His father died as a soldier early in the Second World War and his mother was killed in the Holocaust. Many of his works deal with absence, loss, and identity, often through word play.
