NEW HAVEN, Conn., Oct. 10. -Yale battered its way to a triumph by a single touchdown over the University of Pennsylvania eleven today. The warriors in blue thrilled a gathering of 17,000 fans who braved the low-hanging clouds by registering their second major conquest in as many games this season.

In less active trading, the stock market yesterday registered its eighth consecutive advance. During most of the abbreviated session, pre-holiday influences dominated and fluctuations were small. A sudden wave of buying in steel, motor and rail shares during the last half hour carried many issues to new high levels for the year.

The President's campaign special will be pulling into the city's railroad yards just as Governor Landon's will be leaving. Within twenty-four hours the citizens of Grand Rapids will have heard from the candidates themselves (1) why they should elect Landon for President and (2) why they should re-elect Roosevelt.

Charles Gordon Fullerton was a United States Air Force colonel, a USAF and NASA astronaut, and a research pilot at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Facility, Edwards, California. His assignments included a variety of flight research and support activities piloting NASA's B-52 launch aircraft, the Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA), and other multi-engine and high performance aircraft.
