Fred Åkerström was a Swedish singer, songwriter, and actor. Often deemed as the all-time greatest interpreter of Carl Michael Bellman, he is noted for his bass-baritone voice and immersive performances. Debuting during the folk music revival in the early 1960s, Åkerström recorded many politically-themed sentimental ballads and became a major voice in Swedish protest song movement.
