Units of Adolf Hitler's armies passed last week over Bulgarian plains that thudded fifteen centuries ago to the march of Attila the Hun. The green-clad Germans had entered mountainous Bulgaria without firing a shot. In Berlin's words the units were part of "the army of Balkan security," an army whose bayonets, tanks and machine guns were ready for use against any disturber of Bulgarian peace.
Mrs. Howard Ogden Wood has organized an invitation committee for the luncheon and fashion show entitled "Spring Fever," which will be given in the grand ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria on April 16 as a benefit for the Generosity Thrift Shop.

Ernesto Arturo Miranda was an American laborer whose criminal conviction was set aside in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Miranda v. Arizona, which ruled that criminal suspects must be informed of their right against self-incrimination and their right to consult with an attorney before being questioned by police. This warning is known as a Miranda warning. Miranda had been convicted of kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery charges based on his confession under police interrogation.
