100,000th Man Enlists in Navy Since Dec. 7; 500,000 Fleet Goal All to Be Volunteers

WASHINGTON, Feb. 3 -- The 100,000th volunteer to join the Navy since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7 enlisted yesterday. The Navy Department made this known today and also that the day and night operations of the Navy Recruiting Service on a seven-day week basis had brought in an average of 1,786 enlistments a day during the eight-week period since the war began.
