WASHINGTON, Feb. 8 (U.P.) -- For the last several days the pattern of the Japanese attacks on the defenders of the Philippines and their stepped-up tempo have suggested that the Japanese were preparing for an all-out assault on the last remaining centers of organized resistance, determined to end the Philippines campaign quickly, whatever the cost.
