MOSCOW, Sept. 14 -- It was learned here this morning that the enemy had not succeeded in advancing in any sector of the Stalingrad front during the last twelve hours, though there was no abatement in the battle. A critical situation arising from the piercing of Soviet defenses southwest of the city was restored by the intervention of Russian tanks.

The United States Navy (USN) is the maritime service branch of the United States Department of Defense.
