On April 18, 1942, sixteen American bombers were over Japan. They had taken off from the deck of the carrier Hornet, 800 miles off the coast, and flown in to strike at armament works, railroad yards, dockyards and oil refineries. Last week the story of what had happened to the eighty men in the crews was released.
