Art Museum to Seek $7,500,000 From Public to Help Expansion; MAYOR ADDRESSING LUNCHEON AT THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART YESTERDAY
A public subscription campaign for $7,500,000, or more than threefourths of the grand total of $10,240,000 that will be sought for the expansion and modernization of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, was announced yesterday by Thomas J. Watson, president of the International Business Machines Corporation and general chairman of the museum's seventy-fifth anniversary committee.
