DETROIT, Jan. 18 (AP) -- Owner Walter O. Briggs of the Detroit Tigers hinted today that the sale of slugger Hank Greenberg to the Pittsburgh Pirates might have been influenced by national publicity of a week ago suggesting that Greenberg might like to finish his major league career in his native New York City with the Yankees.
