The greatest thorn in the postwar operations of the domestic steel companies -- their lingering inability to produce sufficient sheet and strip steel -- plagued the industry anew last week when the General Motors Corporation announced that it will be compelled to halt passenger automobile production for one week, starting tomorrow, for lack of supplies.
