Economic developments in Great Britain and President Truman's disarmament proposal created caution in financial markets last week. While waiting for the effect of these measures on international affairs, stock traders showed little disposition to extend commitments and prices fluctuated irregularly. A stronger tone, however, was evident at the week-end.

Kim Peek

1951Kim Peek, American megasavant (died 2009)[†]

Laurence Kim Peek was an American savant. Known as a "megasavant", he had an exceptional memory and exceptional intelligence, but he also experienced social difficulties, possibly resulting from a developmental disability related to congenital brain abnormalities. He was the inspiration for the character Raymond Babbitt in the 1988 movie Rain Man. Although Peek was previously diagnosed with autism, he is now thought to have had FG syndrome.

Marc Summers is an American television personality, comedian, game show host, producer, and talk show host. He is best known for hosting Double Dare on Nickelodeon and Unwrapped on Food Network. In addition, he was the executive producer for both Dinner: Impossible and Restaurant: Impossible, also for Food Network.

Fuzzy Zoeller

Frank Urban "Fuzzy" Zoeller Jr. is an American professional golfer who has won ten PGA Tour events including two major championships. He is one of three golfers to have won the Masters Tournament in his first appearance in the event. He also won the 1984 U.S. Open.
