Y., Oct. 3 -- Rice Institute, considered a power in the Southwest Conference, invaded the Ivy League today as it tangled with Cornell at Schoellkopf Field but for three periods the Big Red refused to be impressed. The Ithacans put up a mighty battle before succumbing, 28 -- 7, as the Texans clinched matters with a last quarter two-touchdown outburst.

PHILADELPHIA, Oct 3 -- Capitalizing on a fourth-quarter break to notch its-second touchdown and then fighting off a desperate bid by their arch rivals in the waning minutes of the game, Pennsylvania's football team racked up its second triumph today by halting Penn State, 13 to 7, in the forty-second clash between the schools at Franklin Field.

NEW HAVEN, Conn., Oct. 30 -- Yale did the expected in its football game with Brown today. Assayed at two touchdowns better than their rivals from Providence, the local athletes proved to be just that as they registered a 13-to-0 victory in the fifty-eighth meeting between the schools since 1880.

ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 3 -- Any existing notion that Navy was lacking in early season firepower proved entirely unfounded today. Before a gathering of 15,000 fans at Thompson Stadium, the midshipmen sailed through Dartmouth's defenses to score a 55-7 triumph.
