17 youths, mostly hs and coll students from middle-class homes, seized, Fresh Meadow, Queens, for committing 500 burglaries in Queens, Nassau and Suffolk Counties in last 5 yrs

Fifteen persons were arrested last night for staging a sitdown demonstration in front of the American Broadcasting Paramount Theatres, Inc. offices at 7 West Sixty-sixth Street. They were protesting against the segregation policy of an Austin, Tex., theatre.

In the next few days, $1,500 to $7,500 weekly checks will be sent to such Broadway stars as Mary Martin, Lee Tracy, Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, Anna Maria Alberghetti, Sam Levene, Phil Silvers, Kim Stanley, Cyril Ritchard, Barbara Bel Geddes, Michael Rennie and Eli Wallach.
