For a crowd of 29,182, which included 19,061 paying customers, guests of the Yankee management and some 9,000 roaming youngsters, it was a pleasant enough afternoon at the Stadium yesterday. It was a barren day, however, for the more serious-minded fans who had clustered in the right wing of the triple-decked grandstand and the right-field bleachers in the hope of catching Roger Maris' sixty-first home run.
