NEW HAVEN, May 16—Wendell Mottley of Yale, who had started to consider himself an “indoor freak,” ran the fastest quarter‐mile of the year today. He won the Heptagonal Games outdoor title in 46.1 seconds in his final race on Yale's DeWitt Cuyler Field.
