NORTH ADAMS, Mass.—One of the most scenic highways in the United States will be 50 years old this year. The Massachu setts route, known as the Mo hawk Trail, originated as an Indian footpath through the mountains and later ‘was a stagecoach link between the Hoosic and Connecticut River valleys. Its formal debut as a roadway for motor vehicles with the designation, Mohawk Trail, took place on Oct. 22, 1914.
