WESTBURY, L. I., Aug. 15—Duke Rodney got to within a neck of Speedy Scot at the top of the stretch in the $50,000 American Trotting Championship at Roosevelt Raceway tonight. The best the Duke could do thereafter, however, was to chase Speedy Scot, who went on to set a world record of 2:31 2/5 for 11/4 miles over a half‐mile track.

IT was by appropriate coinindence that two of the major exports of Liverpool—Liverpool, England, that is—were displayed in this area last week and commanded the popular attention that they variously deserve. The first to show was the elfin Rita Tushingham, who came as the star of “Girl With Green Eyes,” a remarkably true and touching film. And the second to show was the Beatles in their first fiction film, “A Hard Day's Night,” which bids fair to be the most sensational commercial screen success of the year.
