By beating the Philadelphia 76ers, 133—106, at Madison Square Garden last night, the New York Knickerbockers posted their highest score of the season and created an unfamiliar situation for themselves.

BRUSSELS — The European Parliament weighs 50 tons. Eight times a year three large trucks move it—files, typewriters and even pictures off the walls—from staff headquarters in Luxembourg to its meeting place in Strasbourg, France, 110 miles away, and then back again a week later.

IN Houston last October a dozen affluent Texans pooled $100,000 in a venture called Art Investments, Ltd. Their intent, as Business Week reported it, is to “combine their own cultural betterment with a chance at financial gain.” Their initial acquisitions include eight paintings and a metal sculpture which in due course they hope to sell profitably, using the proceeds to purchase new items rich in cultural interest and growth potential.

PEEKSKILL, N. Y. — A Short stretch of new road with long views of the Hudson River and its highlands is soon to be completed as part of relocating eight miles of U.S. Route 9 between Croton and Peekskill. This new, four‐lane, divided, controlled‐access highway, save for being one of the most exciting scenic drives along the Hudson, differs little from the many similarly divided, fourlane, controlled ‐ access highways now stretching across the country.
