FORT SUMNER, N. M. -- Exactly 100 years ago this month, the tribal leaders of some 7,000 halfstarved and dejected Navajo Indians signed a peace treaty with the United States Government that released them from four bitter years of captivity near here.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., June 22 -- The New York Yankees beat the Minnesota Twins for the second straight time today by reviving some of the better weapons from their prosperous past -- the well-pitched game, the long ball and the big inning.

JUST as they were beginning to look almost hopeless, things have gotten a lot better with American movies since last week. "Petulia," "The Queen," "Rosemary's Baby," even "Sol Madrid and "Speedway" are all worth seeing in their way -- the last two maybe on the spur of the moment if they happen to be nearby.
