Broadway musicals of the past, which have adapted plays, books, movies, anecdotes and nightmares, have struck a rich new vein: the Colonial Document. "1776," opening next Sunday, is about the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The genuine Colonial Document which follows [discovered when the National Park Service excavated the foundations of B. Franklin's town house in Philadelphia] is now up for grabs as the Ray Bolger-Ethel Merman-Alfred Drake production of "Let George Do It."

I DON'T want to be too paradoxical about all this, but the most promising scene in "'Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?" is so very promising precisely because it is virtually without content.
