NYS Gov Wilson reptdly will appt Dem Richard H Kuh, NYC atty and founder of liberal Village Ind Dems, to succeed retiring Manhattan Dist Atty Frank S Hogan in move regarded by pol observers as effort to enhance his image beyond that of conservative partisan Repub; Dems affiliated with liberal New Dem Coalition, including Repr Edward I Koch, have openly discussed possibility of opposing Kuh in Sept '74 primary for remaining 3 yrs of Hogan's term; cite Kuh's hard line on law and order and his strenuous prosecution of late comedian Lenny Bruce 10 yrs ago for obscenity; William J vanden Heuvel, who lost to Hogan in spring '73 primary and who has considerable strength in New Dem Coalition, is considered most likely to challenge Kuh; Kuh served as adm asst to Hogan and chief of Criminal Cts Bur from '53 to '64 and presently lectures at NYU Law School (L)

The wholesale price of Amoco gasoline was cut yesterday by 2 cents a gallon. The action marked the first price reduction for gasoline announced by an oil company since the Arab oil embargo against the United States and production cutbacks began in October.
