Effective Monday, Sept. 2, the newsstand price of the weekday New York Times will be increased from 15 cents to 20 cents in the New York metropolitan area and Long Island. Sharply higher operating casts, particularly the, cost of newsprint, have made this price increase necessary. Beyond a 50‐mile radius of New York City, the newsstand price of The Times will remain at 20 cents.

Kumi Tanioka is a Japanese composer and pianist. Born in Hiroshima, Japan, she graduated from Kobe University with a degree in musical performance, and began working as a video game composer in 1998. She joined video game developer and publisher Square that same year, and worked on over 15 games for them before leaving to work as an independent composer in 2010.
