Milk Employes Here Expected to Ratify 2‐Year Pact Today

striking milk drivers and plant employes are expected to approve new 2-yr contract that was negotiated by NYC met area milk dealers and Teamsters Local 584 and to end 4-day walkout at 115 milk processing plants; Greater NY Milk Dealers Labor Com sec Paul Corash says that in 2d yr of contract settlement would cost employers about $65 a wk in higher wages and fringe benefits for each employe; claims that no milk price increases are planned, noting that anticipated higher costs of contract were included in price increase that went into effect Dec 1; tentative settlement gives workers only slightly higher wages than they had rejected on Dec 4; union vp Joseph Trerotola says new agreement is a good one and that local's officers will recommend its acceptance; under new contract, which is retroactive to Nov 11, plant employes would receive raise of $34 in 1st yr and additional $20 in 2d yr; drivers would receive raise of $11 a wk in 1st yr and additional $20 in 2d yr; other improvements in proposed contract are increase in pensions and higher overtime rates (M)
