REMINDERS OF YESTERDAY: The schooner Pioneer sailing past Ellis Island in Upper New York Bay yesterday. The 102‐foot iron coastal vessel sailed from South Street Seaport, near Fulton Street, taking passengers on excursions in New York Bay. Here, the two‐masted Pioneer passed what had been a Federal immigration station until it was closed in 1954. and began to furl her sails in chilly, misty weather in preparation br docking.
