AGROUP of Hunterdon County residents has begun a campaign to defeat an out‐of‐court settlement in which the Hunterdon Medical Center agreed to allow staff specialists to open private practices.

STREET, England — Here, in the shadow of the Glastonbury Tor, the C. & J. Clark Shoe Company looms large in the lives of the 8,100 residents of this Somerset town. Though the days when the company sponsored vacations, housing and schools — and supplied town power — have faded, some 2,500 people work in its factories, and it's only a couple of years since Clark's decided to let the Bear Inn have a liquor license.

After all the speech‐making, handshaking and wreath‐laying of a Presidential foreign trip are over, the invariable question is: what of substance was really accomplished? For President Carter's nine‐day, seven‐country tour, the question involved four major issues —the Middle East, nuclear proliferation, human rights and Western defense —and the answers were mixed.
