The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield is true to its name “Soon we will stop selling anything from the 1950's,” said Larry Aldrich, the wellknown dress designer turned patron of emerging young artists. The new exhibition opening Saturday is called “Prospectus: The 70's,” and it exemplifies Mr. Aldrich's continuing purpose: to show the transition and development of the newest in art forms and techniques. Some of the works by Nevelson, Rauschenberg and Lichtenstein project the 1960's into the 1970's. Others, by newer, less recognizable names like Bell, Russell and Cunningham, explore the 1970 trends in abstract‐illusionism, pattern, painting and high tech.
