Brandy Rayana Norwood is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, model and actress. Born into a musical family in McComb, Mississippi, Norwood was raised in Carson, California, beginning her career as a backing vocalist for teen groups. After signing with Atlantic Records in 1993, she released her self-titled debut album the following year, which sold six million copies worldwide. Norwood gained fame by starring in the UPN sitcom Moesha, and further recognition for her role in the television film Cinderella (1997) and the slasher film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998). Her 1998 duet with fellow R&B contemporary Monica, "The Boy Is Mine", won a Grammy Award and became one of the best-selling female duets of all time.

The Iranian Revolution, also known as the 1979 Revolution, or the Islamic Revolution of 1979 was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty in 1979. The revolution led to the replacement of the Imperial State of Iran by the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the monarchical government of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was superseded by the theocratic Ruhollah Khomeini, a religious cleric who had headed one of the rebel factions. The ousting of Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, formally marked the end of Iran's historical monarchy.

That is the message being delivered forcefully throughout “A Public Trust: The Report of the Carnegie Commission on the Future of Public Broadcasting,” more conveniently known Carnegie II. The report, released over a week ago, is far more detailed and specific, especially on funding mechanisms, than the 1967 Carnegie I study — “Public Television: A Program for Action” — which provided the abstract goals and ideals for the institution, partially financed with taxpayers' money, that became the present Corporation for Public Broadcasting. That first blueprint for the future was best distilled in the now famous E.B. White commentary, used by Carnegie Ito introduce its chapter on programming:
