ROBERT MOSES STATE PARK “LET'S go,” Dick Neagle screamed in midair as he leaped the 10 feet from his lifeguard chair to the sand. Landing on the run, the veteran lifeguard snatched up a life buoy as he sprinted toward the surf, where a young boy was being pulled out to sea by an offshore current.

ISAAC ROSENBERG was killed in battle at the age of 27, on April 1, 1918, while fighting in the British Army on the Western Front. The child of East European Jewish emigrants to England, Rosenberg did not have time to mature, whether as a poet or painter. His fragmentary but authentic achievement is gathered together definitively in this new edition of his “Works,” skillfully edited and beautifully produced.
ONE wintry Boston morning Paul Theroux boarded Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited for the first leg of a railroad trip that would end months later in Patagonia. On the way he stopped off in Buenos Aires to see the eminent Argentine story writer, Jorge Luis Borges. Lucas Luhr is a German racing driver. He is a staple of the American Le Mans Series during the 2000s and early 2010s, winning the GT class with Porsche in 2002, the LMP2 category in 2006, and taking the overall LMP1 championship as part of the Audi Sport North America works outfit in 2008. He also won the P1 title in 2012 and 2013, driving for Honda-fielding Muscle Milk Pickett Racing.

James Victor Cain, Jr. was an American football tight end who played for the St. Louis Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes and was selected by the Cardinals seventh overall in the 1974 NFL draft.

Sándor Péter Kocsis was a Hungarian footballer who played for Ferencvárosi TC, Budapest Honvéd, Young Fellows Zürich, FC Barcelona and Hungary as a striker. During the 1950s, along with Ferenc Puskás, Zoltán Czibor, József Bozsik and Nándor Hidegkuti, he was a member of the Mighty Magyars. After the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, he moved to Spain where he became a member of the FC Barcelona team of the late 1950s.
