At least four men, including a world‐class American bobsledder, were killed Monday night when a road collapsed and sent their vehicles into a rain‐swollen stream about 20 miles east of Lake Placid, N.Y. The bobsledder, Dr. Thomas F. Tanneberger, 30, was a candidate for the United States bobsled team in the upcoming Olympics.
