Three of the nation's major sugar companies yesterday announced a $3per-100-pound price increase in the wholesale price of sugar. The Amstar Corporation, Refined Syrups and Sugars Inc. and the Revere Sugar Company said that, effective today, wholesale prices for 100-pound units would be increased to $40.10, bulk to $39 and No. 2 sucrose to $39.20. Consumers should find the price rises of about 10 cents for a five-pound bag.
