PROSTITUTES' ROLE IN AIDS SURVEYED

LEAD: EARLY data from a federally sponsored study of prostitutes in northern New Jersey show that 57 percent may be infected with AIDS, a rate seven times higher than the average for other metropolitan areas where similar studies were made.
