LEAD: Democratic and Republican leaders in the Senate, agreeing that Judge Robert H. Bork will not be confirmed to the Supreme Court, indicated today that the final Senate debate on his nomination might begin as early as this week.
LEAD: Fearful of being taken to hospitals against their will, mentally ill homeless people have been changing their routines and disappearing from their usual haunts, according to health workers who seek them out to offer food and other assistance.
LEAD: Last Monday, one day after Mexico's ruling party named Carlos Salinas de Gortari as its standard-bearer in next year's presidential election, the stock market here rose 7.5 percent in the first 90 minutes of trading. Marvin Ogunjimi is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Until 2011, he played for the Belgium national team earning seven caps.

Alfred Mossman Landon was an American oilman and politician who served as the 26th governor of Kansas from 1933 to 1937. A member of the Republican Party, he was the party's nominee in the 1936 presidential election, and was defeated in a landslide by incumbent president Franklin D. Roosevelt. The margin of victory in the electoral college was the largest of Roosevelt's four elections to the office of president, as Landon won just 8 electoral votes to Roosevelt's 523. Landon died on October 12, 1987, becoming the only presidential candidate from either of the major parties to live to the age of 100 until Jimmy Carter in 2024, and is to date the only Republican candidate to do so.
