The Fluid Grace of Skating, the Many Rigors of Training
LEAD: FOR Christopher Fullagar and the hundreds of other youngsters in New Jersey like him, whose days are bounded, in a sense, by the frozen expanse of an ice skating rink, the journey from the first forward swizzle to the triple Axel takes at least 12 years and thousands of dollars. During that time, there are lessons, coaching sessions, jubilant moments and discouraging plateaus, with pulled muscles and bruises part of the territory.
