He played college basketball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Shumpert was selected by the New York Knicks with the 17th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. He was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015 and won an NBA championship with them in 2016. Shumpert also had stints with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets.
