Cuts in Jobs Are Reported At Kidder
Kidder, Peabody & Company has joined the ranks of investment houses dismissing employees, with a reduction in its investment banking division of as much as 10 percent, Wall Street executives said yesterday. Although the dimissals were focused in the investment banking division, which Kidder has been building up since the beginning of the year, they were part of a firm-wide cutback. As many as 70 people, or a little less than 2 percent of the firm's total staff of 5,000 were let go.
