Iraq launched a second missile attack against Tel Aviv this morning, military officials said. The Israeli authorities said the missiles carried conventional explosives, like the missiles that hit Tel Aviv and Haifa early Friday. The Mayor of Tel Aviv was reported on radio and television to have said that two missiles landed in the city in the latest attack and that a few people were slightly wounded.

Taking issue with the nation's two leading medical and dental associations, the New York State Health Department yesterday issued guidelines saying that health-care workers infected with the AIDS virus need not tell patients their status and may continue to operate or do other invasive procedures. The recommendations, which can be enforced by New York health officials, are believed to be the first issued by any state concerning health-care workers infected with the AIDS virus. The Federal Centers for Disease Control has said it plans to issue guidelines in several weeks. Those recommendations, which might include testing, would not be binding.

Allied warplanes mounted a huge effort to destroy Iraq's mobile missile launchers on Friday and again this morning, but apparently failed to wipe them all out. Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the American commander in the Persian Gulf, said Air Force planes had found and demolished three launchers loaded with missiles aimed at Saudi Arabia, had knocked out three empty launchers at the same site and were continuing to attack five other empty launchers.

Eastern Airlines, a fixture in United States aviation since 1928 and the nation's eighth-largest airline, announced that it had stopped flying last night and would begin to sell off its planes and other assets. The airline, which had been struggling for almost two years to rebuild under the protection of the bankruptcy court, is by far the largest casualty of the pressures brought by the deregulation of the industry 13 years ago.
