The biggest share of an estimated $14 million that the two major parties and their candidates are spending in quest of victory in Tuesday's election for 120 seats in the New Jersey Legislature has been channeled to a handful of races. Campaign consultants, pollsters, graphics designers, printers, radio and cable television stations, the post office and the telephone company will get the money. What the two parties want is control of the State Senate and the State Assembly. The winning candidates will get $35,000 a year for a part-time job and, of course, the opportunity to serve their neighbors.
Joseph Papp, director of the New York Shakespeare Festival and one of the most influential producers in the history of the American theater, died yesterday at his home in Greenwich Village. He was 70 years old. He died of prostate cancer, said Richard Kornberg, his press representative. All Broadway theaters will dim their lights at 8 tonight in tribute to Mr. Papp.

Reece Brown is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He began his career with Manchester United, but failed to break into the first team and after loan spells at Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Coventry City and Ipswich Town, he joined Watford in 2013. At the end of the 2013โ14 season, he spent a month on loan to Carlisle United, before leaving Watford for Barnsley on a free transfer ahead of the 2014โ15 season. He lasted just a season there before joining Bury. He joined Sheffield United for the 2016โ17 season, but was released in January 2017 and returned to Bury. At the end of the season, he joined Rochdale, but his time there lasted just one season. His elder brother, Wes, also played for Manchester United from 1998 to 2011.

Anthony Paul Ramos Martinez is an American actor and singer. After graduating in musical theater from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, he began performing in stage musicals. In 2015, he originated the dual role of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway musical Hamilton, for which he won a Grammy Award. He received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role in a Limited Series or Movie for his performance in the 2020 stage recording of the play.

Jiang Yuyuan is a retired Chinese gymnast. She is the 2008 Chinese all-around senior National Champion and a member of the gold medal-winning People's Republic of China team for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Jiang was a member of the silver medal-winning Chinese team at the 2007 World Championships, the bronze medal-winning member at the 2010 World Championships and 2011 World Championships, and the all-around gold medalist at the 2007 Good Luck Beijing Olympic test event. In 2010, she replaced Cheng Fei as the captain of the Chinese national team. She won a silver medal in the all-around competition at the 2010 World Championships, which is the highest position that a Chinese woman has ever placed in the all-around competition at a world or Olympic championship.
