Allies Agree to Suspend Flights Of NATO Planes Over Bosnia
In a conciliatory gesture to the Bosnian Serbs, United Nations military officials and NATO agreed earlier this week to suspend flights of NATO warplanes over Bosnia, United Nations officials said here today. The decision was seen here as part of an effort to persuade the Bosnian Serbs to accept a cease-fire with peace terms they had rejected, and to free about 400 United Nations peacekeepers that the Serbs are holding.
