Ciena Shares Rebound After Strong First Quarter The beleaguered shares of Ciena rebounded after the company reported a surprising return to profitability in its first fiscal quarter. Lost sales and a scuttled acquisition by Tellabs last September had eroded much of Ciena's once-stellar valuation. Ciena shares closed Friday at $22.4375, up $1.5625, or 7.5 percent, in Nasdaq trading. While that number is still a fraction of the stock's 52-week high of $92.37, reached after the initial announcement of the Tellabs deal, it is still a significant multiple of the 52-week low of $8.12 set last October.
